We're looking for an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to join our team and play a key role in growing and managing our commercial lending portfolio while supporting the financial success of our local business community.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Commercial Loan Officer, you'll balance business development, credit analysis, and portfolio management while serving as a trusted advisor to your clients.
Relationship & Business Development
- Build and manage strong relationships with commercial clients and prospects.
- Identify opportunities for commercial loans, deposits, and treasury management services.
- Actively network and represent the bank in the local community and at industry events.
- Partner with internal teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
Lending & Credit Management
- Interview loan applicants and assess creditworthiness through detail financial analysis.
- Structure, propose, and recommend loan terms aligned with client needs and bank guidelines.
- Prepare and support commercial loan approvals in collaboration with credit management.
- Ensure all loan documentation is accurate and compliant with policies and regulations.
Portfolio Oversight & Risk Management
- Manage an assigned commercial loan portfolio to ensure quality, compliance, and profitability.
- Monitor covenant compliance, financial reporting, and annual reviews.
- Identify potential credit risks early and recommend solutions.
- Participate in collection efforts to minimize delinquency.
- Comply with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and related anti-money laundering statutes; and federal consumer protection legislation and regulations.
Collaboration & Cross-Selling
- Coordinate commercial banking activities across the banking center network.
- Partner with business lines such as treasury management, mortgage lending, and affinity banking to meet client needs.
- Participate in joint calling efforts to deepen relationships and expand services.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2 - 5 years of experience in commercial lending, banking, and/or commercial real estate
- Strong background in credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work independently
