As a Senior Commercial Loan Portfolio Analyst, you'll play a vital role in evaluating commercial credit opportunities, monitoring portfolio performance, and partnering with our Commercial Lending team to make sound lending decisions. What You'll Do
- Analyzes new and existing commercial credit relationships to assess borrower creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
- Reviews commercial loan applications to ensure compliance with bank lending policies and underwriting standards.
- Evaluates corporate and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and other financial information to support lending decisions.
- Prepares comprehensive credit analyses, financial summaries, and loan recommendations for Loan Committee approval.
- Monitors customer accounts for financial performance trends, including borrowing base compliance, rent roll accuracy, net operating income, and other key indicators.
- Responds to credit-related questions from relationship managers, lenders, sales teams, and customer service staff.
- Researches economic, industry, and market trends to evaluate portfolio risk and support sound credit decisions.
- Assists with quality control reviews within the Loan Department to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly lending reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Conducts annual reviews of select third-party vendors providing services to the bank.
- Complies with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, AML requirements, and federal consumer protection regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Five or more years of commercial credit analysis and/or commercial underwriting experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending principles, credit analysis, and loan underwriting.
- Knowledge of commercial lending processes.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, loan operating software and core banking software.
